How to get to the appdata folder?
-HOW TO GET TO THE APPDATA-
With the Netcoin client NOT running…..
Press and hold the “windows key” and press R, -This will pull up the RUN window.
Type %appdata% -This will take you to the appdata>roaming folder where all the important files including your wallet.dat are located.
You need to scroll down until you see NetCoin folder and click it.
Replace the all addnode’s in the NetCoin folder (located in the appdata>roaming ) with the above nodes.
***Always make sure the wallet isn’t running before replacing any files and also making any backups or they might be corrupted and not work.
Helpful tips and important information
-It is worth noting to always keep your wallet encrypted as you want to keep your wallet locked until you are fully synced.. This prevents premature stakes that will show as orphans. Orphans do happen and are perfectly normal. If you see a higher count than 5 in a row you may not be synced fully and/or could end up needing to resync from start if your staking behaves this way. A download of the chain will always be uploaded every month on the github. https://github.com/netcoinfoundation/netcoin/releases
Good practice of encrypting and waiting until fully sync before you unlock to stake prevents this.
-ALWAYS have an encrypted (locked) wallet, not only for the obvious reasons but so you don’t attempt to stake before synced..
-ALWAYS let it sync the full way before unlocking to stake, each and every time you ever restart or shutdown and turn it back on it needs to be fully synced first.
-ALWAYS make sure the wallet isn’t running before replacing any files and also making any backups or they might be corrupted and not work.
-Grab you a few copies of the wallet.dat file and store them in a safe place elsewhere other than the running OS, like another hard drive or flash.. whatever you have.
-Anytime you create a new address make sure to make NEW backups.
-Remember that Netcoin stakes every 6 hrs or 4 times daily. (100k+ holders) — (fair weight)
-There is a minimum wait time of one hour for any new coins deposited to the wallet before staking starts.
-It has a compounding effect for active stakers (OWI) and you choose your own reward (PIR)
-No stakes rewards are ever lost if you stake within 30 days.
-After 30 days the rewards start to deteriorate for those not staking, and up to 90 days you don’t stake… you get only half the amount.
-DO NOT DELETE YOUR WALLET.DAT FILE OR LOOSE YOUR PASSWORD
-Love and enjoy your Netcoins 🙂
